Speaker of the Republic’s Assembly Zorlu Töre said that even on December 10, World Human Rights Day, the atrocities in Gaza continue and civilians continue to be killed.

Töre made the statement while receiving a group of non-governmental organizations condemning Israeli attacks on Gaza.

Speaking on behalf of the group, Hüseyin Gürlek stated that a massacres are taking place in front of the eyes of the world; human and children’s rights are being violated and called on the world to take action.

The group condemned the atrocities taking place in Gaza.

Parliament Speaker Zorlu Töre for his part noted that even on December 10, World Human Rights Day, the atrocities in Gaza continue and civilians are continuing to be killed.

Pointing out that the massacres are taking place in front of the world, Töre stated that the issues in the Declaration of Human Rights were accepted in vain.

He also stated that the European countries, which are called civilized, remained bystanders to the genocide and massacre; Töre said that the US, which provides ammunition to Israel, is a partner in the atrocity and the head of the UN Security Council.

“We were expelled from the Republic of Cyprus 60 years ago. The UN accepted the Greek Cypriots, who occupied the Republic of Cyprus, as the legitimate government and started to see us as if we were the side that rebelled. These are unacceptable,” said Töre.

Underlining that Turkish and Muslim countries should come together and react more strongly to this atrocity; Töre stated that countries that prioritize basic human rights should also impose an embargo on Israel.

“Fortunately, Türkiye was there and we were saved, we would have been worse than Gaza. Greek Cypriots would have spread their massacres from Taşkent, Muratağa and Sandallar to the whole of the island. Türkiye’s intervention was a deterrent. Today we have an independent state. Thanks to this, we live in freedom and security.” said Töre.
