The Speaker of the Republic’s Assembly Zorlu Töre on Wednesday welcomed a delegation from the Turkish Grand National Assembly headed by the Turkish Parliament’s Deputy Speaker Bekir Bozdağ, which was in the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC) to attend the 40th anniversary of the Republic.

Led by the Deputy Speaker of the Turkish Grand National Assembly Bekir Bozdağ, the Turkish Grand National Assembly’s delegation included Justice and Development Party Deputy from Kayseri and Chairman of the National Defence Commission Hulusi Akar, AK Party Deputy from Mersin Ali Kıratlı and CHP Deputy from Istanbul Namık Tan, were received by Speaker of the TRNC Parliament Zorlu Töre on Wednesday.

During the reception, the Speaker of Parliament Zorlu Töre said that the TRNC had reached the present day through unity and solidarity.

He expressed the hope that the Republic would endure forever.

Highlighting their continued journey with Türkiye, Töre said, “A national cause in Cyprus cannot be pursued without Türkiye.”

The Deputy Speaker of the Turkish Grand National Assembly Bozdağ, in his speech, emphasized that celebrating the 40th anniversary of the independence of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus was a historic occasion.

Referring to the developments in the region, he expressed the hope to see a stronger TRNC in the future with fully open doors.

Bozdağ reminded that Türkiye will always stand by the TRNC, and he emphasized that the presence of the Turkish army was a guarantee of peace and stability in the region.

Regarding the recognition of the TRNC, Bozdağ mentioned that a certain point had been reached and underscored their commitment to continuing to work together to lift isolations.
