Acting President Zorlu Töre received former Chief of Staff of the Turkish Naval Forces Rear Admiral Cihat Yaycı and his accompanying delegation.

Speaking during the visit Töre said that protecting the Turkish Union and the Red Apple is a part of the national ideals.

He noted that cooperation between Turkic states is important and that if a Turk is in trouble anywhere in the world, joint action should be taken.

Stating that the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC) is located in the middle of the Eastern Mediterranean in terms of energy and trade, Töre stated that the island of Cyprus will become an energy centre in the future.

Former Chief of Staff of the Turkish Naval Forces Rear Admiral Cihat Yaycı for his part said that the TRNC is the heart of the Turkic world with its identity as an island state.

Yaycı stated that the TRNC is an example to the world with its democracy and that he is proud to be visiting the Republic’s Assembly.
