The Speaker of the Republic’s Assembly Zorlu Töre stated that the Civil Defence Organization has provided outstanding services for both the state and the public, emphasizing its indispensability.

Töre was speaking during a visit paid to him by the head of the Civil Defence Organization Atilla Karaca.

Receiving the head of the Civil Defence Organization Atilla Karaca at the TRNC Parliament, Parliamentary Speaker Zorlu Töre emphasized the important duties of civil defence in both peacetime and wartime.

He expressed that it is understood that a country cannot be without civil defence and noted that the organisation is always ready for duty in this context.

Reminding of the role played by the Civil Defence Organization in the earthquake disaster on February 6 in Türkiye and the fire disaster in the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC), Töre thanked Atilla Karaca and his team for their efforts.

He also mentioned that the Civil Defence Organization had branches in six provinces in Türkiye but emphasized the need for its expansion to other areas, stating that it is the duty of the state.

The head of the Civil Defence Organization Atilla Karaca for his part said, “With the support provided by our state, we are better than yesterday, and we will be better tomorrow than today.”
