The Speaker of the Republic’s Assembly Zorlu Töre has said that the impact of the embargoes imposed on the Turkish Cypriot people has been mitigated with the support of Türkiye.

Töre received on Monday Erol Öz, who was appointed as the new Coordinator of the Development and Economic Cooperation Office (KEI) of the Turkish Embassy in Lefkoşa.

Receiving the new head of the Development and Economic Cooperation Office Erol Öz, Parliamentary Speaker Zorlu Töre said that the TRNC was grateful to the support provided by the Republic of Türkiye.

He pointed out that the Cyprus issue was a national cause for the entire Turkish nation.

Emphasizing Ankara’s support in numerous areas, Töre said that both the Development and Economic Cooperation Office (KEİ) and the Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency (TİKA) were indispensable for the TRNC.

Erol Öz, the newly appointed KEI Coordinator for his part said that his office played an important role in the development of cooperation between the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus and Türkiye.

“We will work together to develop and reach prosperous days under the coordination of the Presidency in Ankara and the Turkish Embassy in Lefkoşa”, he said.
