The Speaker of the Republic’s Assembly Zorlu Töre received on Tuesday the head of the Mersin Branch of the Turkish War Disabled Veterans’, Martyrs’ Widows and Orphans Association Fatih Tuncer.

Speaking during the visit, TRNC Parliamentary Speaker Zorlu Töre said that the Turkish Cypriot people owed their independence and sovereignty to the martyrs and war veterans.

He said that it was their duty to protect and preserve the sacred values entrusted to them.

“We are proud to be part of the Turkish nation,” he said.

For his part, the head of the association’s Mersin branch Fatih Tuncer said he was proud to be in the TRNC.
