The Speaker of the Republic’s Assembly Zorlu Töre stressed that the Turkish nation was a great nation adding that he believed the wounds caused by the earthquake will be healed as soon as possible.

The Speaker of the Republic’s Assembly Zorlu Töre who came together with a delegation from the Turkish Peace Forces Veterans Association on Wednesday noted that the Turkish Nation was going through a difficult and painful time and that the whole country was in mourning.

“The loss of Turkish Cypriot lives, especially our young children, in the earthquake opened a great wound in our society,” Töre said, adding that it was their duty to keep the memory of the citizens who lost their lives duly alive.

Noting that the Turkish nation was a great nation and that he believed that the nation will recover from this great tragedy as soon as possible, Töre noted that veterans knew the meaning of hardship very well and said “just like your struggle, we will carry this pain within us and overcome these difficult days together.”
