Töre takes part in joint broadcast and visits container city and veterans

Speaker of the Republic’s Assembly Zorlu Töre visited the container city in Malatya, which was put into service for the citizens whose houses were destroyed in the February 6 earthquake.

Chatting with the people living here, Töre said that the Turkish Cypriot people are always together with their homeland and emphasized that the Turkish nation is a great nation that can always heal its wounds in solidarity.

Töre, who also participated in the joint broadcast of 13 radios within the framework of his visits to the area, conveyed his thoughts on the Cyprus issue and the developments in the region.

He stated that the TRNC is a homeland of the Turkish nation in the Eastern Mediterranean region and pointed to the importance of being powerful especially in the light of recent developments in the region.

He noted that they will continue on their way without making any concessions in order to have a say together with Türkiye.

The Parliamentary Speaker also visited the Malatya Branch of the Turkish War Disabled Veterans Martyrs’ Widows and Orphans Association and met with veterans.

Speaking during the visit Töre said that a nation owes its existence to its martyrs and veterans, and emphasized that the struggle of Mehmetçiks and Mujahids (Turkish and Turkish Cypriot fighters) is the most important factor in the establishment of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC) coming to this day.

Parliamentary Speaker Töre also met with the families of health workers who lost their lives in the February 6 earthquake and health personnel.

Reminding that TRNC citizens had also lost their lives in the earthquake in Adıyaman and other provinces in the region, Töre said that the pain experienced is common and that they are united in healing the wounds.

Töre presented plaques of appreciation to the health workers who were on duty to save lives despite losing their immediate family members on the night of the earthquake.
