Acting President and Speaker of the Republic’s Assembly Zorlu Töre visited Gönyeli on Tuesday, inspecting the recently opened Gönyeli Police Station and Gönyeli-Alayköy Municipality

The Gönyeli Police Station, located within the Police Academy compound came into operation on January 2.

Speaking during the visit, Töre stated that the new police station was modern and fully equipped but highlighted the need to increase the number of officers, something he added would be addressed with new graduates from the Police academy.

Noting that Gönyeli was a rapidly growing and developing suburb and its population density increasing each passing day, Töre said that the duties of police in the area have increased as a result of this growth.

The acting president who later visited the Gönyeli Alayköy Municipality where he met with Mayor Hüseyin Amcaoğlu said that the municipality was on a good path with the projects it has put forward.

Töre also said that merging some of the municipalities had been a good decision in terms of raising the quality of service to the public.
