The Speaker of Parliament Zorlu Töre paid a visit to the Şehir Hospital located in the Turkish capital’s Bilkent district where he wished injured patients transferred from the earthquake zone a speedy recovery.
Speaking to reporters at the end of the visit, Parliamentary Speaker Töre noted that 350 earthquake victims were receiving treatment at the hospital and that healthcare workers were working in extraordinary conditions.
Conveying his get well wishes to the patients, Töre said, “there are people here who are injured and who lost relatives; I wish them both patience and a speedy recovery”.
Emphasizing that the earthquake that struck Türkiye was unprecedented and that AFAD and healthcare workers were working extremely hard to assist survivors, Töre added that all the administrators in Türkiye were exerting great efforts to heal the wounds of the country.
“May God heal all the injured. I also want to express my condolences to the Turkish nation and the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC).”
He added that the disaster will be overcome and that everyone will continue on the road ahead.
Meanwhile, the Deputy Speaker of Parliament Fazilet Özdenefe also evaluated their visit to Türkiye by stating that they had visited both the Turkish Grand National Assembly (TBMM) and the hospital in Ankara and conveyed their condolences to the nation.
Noting that the country is going through a difficult phase, Özdenefe emphasized once again they were able to see the affects and the damage caused by the earthquake.
