Acting President and Speaker of the Republic’s Assembly Zorlu Töre also reacted to the Greek Cypriot administration’s attempts to target the tourism sector of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC).

In his statement Töre said, “Even if we invite Christodoulidis to common sense, he will not”.

Acting President and Speaker of the Republic’s Assembly Zorlu Töre stated that the Greek Cypriots are trying to do what they cannot do with weapons by applying economic, political and social blockades, but warned they will not succeed.

Reacting to the Greek Cypriot administration’s attempts to target the tourism sector of the TRNC, Töre said that the Greek Cypriots see Cyprus as a Hellenic island adding that the Greek Cypriot fanaticism will not stop and for this reason, they are working towards wreaking havoc on the TRNC’s economy.

Stating that they are trying to implement a plan similar to the Akritas Plan through different methods, Töre said that Christodoulidis on the one hand wants negotiations and on the other hand, is trying to intervene in the TRNC.

“Even if we invite Christodoulidis to use common sense, he will not”, Töre said, adding that the Greek Cypriot leader has a mentality that sees the Turkish Cypriot People as a minority.

Expaining that the Greek-Greek Cypriot duo has not given up on their efforts to Hellenize Cyprus, Töre noted that as long as Christodoulidis remains at his post, things will not change in Cyprus.

Töre also called on the European Union and the United Nations to see the attitude of the Greek Cypriot Administration.
