The Speaker of the Republic’s Assembly Zorlu Töre, within the framework of his recent contacts in Istanbul, met with the Deputy Speaker of the Azerbaijan National Assembly Fezail Ibrahimli, who was in Istanbul to represent his country at the 5th Conference of the Inter-Parliamentary Jerusalem Platform.
Speaking during his meeting, Töre said that Türkiye, Azerbaijan and the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus are closely cooperating on several issues and that a delegation from the TRNC Republic’s Assembly also held talks in Baku.
Noting that on May 12 and 16, the parliamentary friendship groups from Azerbaijan and Türkiye will come to the TRNC, Töre stated that contacts between the countries will progress further.
He said that the countries, which are one nation and 3 states, should combine their opportunities in energy, economy and in politics as well.
Fezail Ibrahimli for his part said that the Organization of Turkic States is important and in this context, they attach importance to relations with Turkic states.
