The 17th International Tourism Trade Fair and Congress opened its doors at Fair Izmir.
Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Tourism, Culture, Youth and Environment Fikri Ataoğlu attended the opening of the fair.
In his speech during the fair Ataoğlu touched upon figures in the tourism sector and said that pre-Covid figures had finally been reached.
He emphasized the importance of tourism-related projects between Türkiye and the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC) and pointed out that it is imperative to work on increasing the bed capacity of the TRNC.
Ataoğlu noted that with the New Ercan Airport coming into service, wide-body airplanes have started landing at the airport.
