President of the Republic of Türkiye Recep Tayyip Erdoğan spoke at the Economic Cooperation Organization’s (ECO) Leaders Summit in Tashkent, Uzbekistan on Thursday and once again called for the improvement of relations with the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC).

“As members of the Economic Cooperation Organisation, it is the responsibility of all of us to make the voices of the Turkish Cypriots, who are unjustly oppressed and isolated by unlawful practices, heard,” Erdoğan said.

In his speech at the Economic Cooperation Organization Leaders Summit held in Tashkent, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan touched upon the Cyprus issue.

Erdoğan said, “The Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus, an observer member of the Economic Cooperation Organization, was represented by its President Ersin Tatar at the summit. This is an important message against the unfair practices inflicted on our Turkish Cypriot brothers and sisters.”

He stated that as members of the ECO it was their responsibility to make the voices of the Turkish Cypriots heard.

“In this respect, I once again repeat my call for the establishment and development of relations with the Turkish Cypriots in all fields. I thank all my brothers and sisters who have taken steps in this direction. May God preserve our unity and solidarity” said Erdoğan.
