The Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus flag (TRNC) was on full display alongside the other member states at the 12th Meeting of Ministers in Charge of Economy and Trade of the Organization of Turkic States (OTS) in Istanbul, attended by the Minister of Economy and Energy Olgun Amcaoğlu.

The Ministerial Meeting, which was also attended by the Minister of Economy and Energy Olgun Amcaoğlu, was hosted by the Minister of Trade of the Republic of Türkiye Prof. Dr. Ömer Bolat.

OTS member countries and observers were represented at the ministerial or deputy ministerial level.

The TRNC flag was also on display together with the flags of other OTS member states and observer member Hungary at all venues where the meeting took place, including the group photos taken before and at the end of the summit.

In his speech at the meeting, Minister Amcaoğlu extended the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus’ warmest greetings and gratitude to the Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan for supporting the TRNC.

He said that strengthening relations with the OTS member countries in all areas was among the top priorities of their foreign policy and underlined that the economic and spiritual unification of the Turkic world inspired many countries.

“We will remain committed to the goal of integration with the Turkic world and will work with all our strength to move towards this goal,” said Amcaoğlu.

Stating that the Turkic world covers a vast geography of more than 200 million people and has great economic potential, Amcaoğlu said that it will be natural for strong cooperation to emerge in many sectors such as energy, tourism and agriculture.

“Regional investments, especially in the fields of digitalization and advanced technology, will add strength to our strength,” said Amcaoğlu and emphasized that as the TRNC they want to serve such a vision.

“Although we are on a small scale economically, we have a very high potential to be a hub that will provide a central connection in some projects, especially in the fields of advanced technology and research and development with our universities that house more than 120 thousand students from 35 countries,” said Amcaoğlu.
