Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC) Ministry of Health Undersecretary Assoc. Prof. Dr. Deren Oygar attended the 4th Health Ministers Meeting of the Organization of Turkic States held in Shusha and delivered a speech.

Oygar thanked the Minister of Health of the Republic of Azerbaijan Dr. Teymur Musayev and everyone who contributed to the realization of the meeting.

In his speech, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Health Assoc. Prof. Dr. Deren Oygar drew attention to the importance of cooperation in the field of health and the strength of the Turkic world in this field and voiced the developments taking place on joint projects.

He also said that Covid-19 reminded the world of the importance of cooperation in the health sector and mentioned the success of the transplant program established in the TRNC.

Oygar stated that with the support of the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Türkiye, a transplant program was established in the TRNC in 2016 where kidney and heart transplants can be performed.

He also held separate meetings with the Minister of Health of the Republic of Türkiye Prof. Dr. Kemal Memişoğlu and Minister of Health of Azerbaijan Teymur Musayev.

During the meetings, cooperation between the countries was discussed.

Oygar was accompanied by Ambassador Ufuk Turganer, the TRNC Representative in Baku.
