The first meeting of the Foreign Affairs Committee Chairs of Turkic States’ Parliaments, organized by the National Assembly of the Republic of Azerbaijan, is taking place in the Azeri capital Baku.

The delegations of Azerbaijan, Türkiye, Kazakhstan, the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus, Uzbekistan, Hungary, and Kyrgyzstan are attending the event held at the Milli Majlis.

Representing the TRNC at the meetings is a delegation from the Parliament’s Committee on Legal, Political and Foreign Affairs, consisting of Chairperson and National Unity Party (CTP) MP Yasemin Öztürk, and Committee Member, Republican Turkish Party (CTP) MP Ürün Solyalı.

Committee Chair Yasemin Öztürk is expected to deliver a speech at the meeting.

Meanwhile, Öztürk and Solyalı, as part of their Azerbaijan contacts, participated in a wreath-laying ceremony at the grave of Azerbaijan’s National Leader Heydar Aliyev before attending the ceremony at the Eternal Flame Monument and the Turkish Martyrs’ Cemetery.
