The Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC) was represented at the 1st Meeting of the Heads of Mapping Institutions of the Organization of Turkic States.

According to a written statement made by the Ministry of Interior, the 1st Meeting of the Heads of Mapping Institutions of the Organization of Turkic States was held in Ankara with the participation of representatives of mapping institutions from Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, Hungary and the TRNC.

Deputy Secretary General of the Organization of Turkic States Sadi Jafarov and Deputy Minister of National Defence of Türkiye Şuay Alpay also attended the meeting, where the TRNC was represented by the Directorate of Mapping Department.

Heads of civil/military mapping institutions of the Member States and Observers participated at the Meeting where they were presented with information about the objectives and activities of mapping institutions and authorities of their countries.

At the meeting, the “Declaration Text of the Heads of the Cartography Institutions of the Organization of Turkic States on Cooperation in the Field of Cartography” was signed.
