The Union of National Libraries of the Turkic World is being established.

The Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC) was also represented at the Conference of Directors of National Libraries of Turkic Language Countries, where the regulations on the Union were established.

The Department of Culture, under the Ministry of Deputy Prime Ministry of Tourism, Culture, Youth and Environment, represented the TRNC at the Conference of National Library Directors of Turkic Language Countries organized by TURKSOY (International Organization of Turkic Culture) in Baku in cooperation with the National Library of Azerbaijan.

Under the chairmanship of TURKSOY Secretary General Sultan Raev, National Library Directors of Türkiye, Azerbaijan, Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan and observer member Hungary participated in the conference, where the Director of the Cultural Center of the Department of Culture Ceyhan Özyıldız took part on behalf of TRNC.

At the Conference it was unanimously accepted to change the name of the Union to the Union of National Libraries of the Turkic World.

It was also decided to complete the establishment of the Union of National Libraries of the Turkic World in Ankara in April 2025.
