The TRNC saw its first snowfall of the winter on Wednesday as a thin white blanket covered the area around Selvili Tepe, the highest peak of the Beşparmak or Five Finger Mountain range.
Snowfall on the mountain range is not a frequent occurrence.
Meanwhile, the cold and wet weather is set to continue over the next few days.
Light snow was observed on the highest peaks of the Beşparmak mountain range on Wednesday after temperatures dropped to winter norms following a mild autumn and late winter.
On Friday, initially the weather will be partly cloudy and isolated showers or storms are expected in the west and north.
Gradually, it will become mostly cloudy with isolated showers and thunderstorms are expected in other areas of the island.
A similar pattern is expected on Saturday and Sunday.
