TRNC state and govt officials send congratulatory messages to Aliyev

Elections in Azerbaijan have been completed and İlham Aliyev has been re-elected as the country’s president.

President Ersin Tatar, Speaker of the Republic’s Assembly Zorlu Töre and Prime Minister Ünal Üstel all issued messages congratulating Aliyev on his success.

President Ersin Tatar in his message via his social media account wrote “I sincerely congratulate Mr. Ilham Aliyev, who was re-elected President of Azerbaijan for the fifth time with a historic victory according to the unofficial results of the Azerbaijani Presidential elections, and I wish the election results to be beneficial to all Azerbaijanis.”

The Speaker of the Republic’s Assembly in his message expressed the hope that the victory of President Ilham Aliyev will be beneficial for the entire Turkic world, especially the people of Azerbaijan.

Stating that it is important to establish ballot boxes and bring democracy to the regions liberated from occupation after the Karabakh victory, Töre wished Ilham Aliyev success in his duty.

Prime Minister Ünal Üstel in his congratulatory message wrote “I believe that this indisputable election victory of Aliyev, which he has won for the 5th time, will not only contribute to Azerbaijan’s steady rise, but will also make significant contributions to regional peace, the Turkic World and the development of relations between the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus and Azerbaijan”.

Noting that ballot boxes were also set up in Karabakh which had become liberated, Üstel said “I sincerely congratulate all our Azerbaijani brothers and sisters who went to the polling stations, demonstrated their will and protected Azerbaijan’s democracy”.
