The 26th Republic Festival Youth and Sports events are set to begin on Saturday as part of the 40th anniversary celebrations of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC).
The events to be organized by the TRNC Youth Department will take place from November 4-19.
A press conference was held at the Ministry of Tourism, Culture, Youth, and Environment on Monday regarding the events that will take place from November 4-19.
In his opening speech at the press conference, the Director of the Youth Department, Hakan Özsaygın, emphasized the importance of events for the TRNC.
He also said that the events and performances within the framework of the festival will pay tribute to the Champion Angels Society.
Özsaygın also provided information about the games and expressed gratitude to the Ministry of Tourism, Youth, and Environment as well the representatives of the Sports Federation for their contributions to the event.
The presidents and representatives of the sports federations present at the meeting expressed their satisfaction with the organization of events befitting the 40th anniversary of the Republic and their contributions to these activities.
Also speaking at the event, the Minister of Tourism, Culture, Youth, and Environment Fikri Ataoğlu highlighted the significance of unity as they prepare to celebrate the 40th anniversary of the TRNC.
Ataoğlu mentioned that the entrance to sports competitions will be free, but the entrance to stage performances scheduled for November 4 and 11 will include a symbolic entrance fee to support the Champion Angels Society.
Ataoğlu emphasized that this decision would make the sports games more meaningful and invited the public to celebrate the 40th anniversary of the Republic.
