The 40th anniversary of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC) is being celebrated with much enthusiasm.
At 10am the 40th anniversary Republic Cortege was realized.
The cortege started in front of the Ministry of National Education and finished at the presidency.
Welcoming the Republican Cortege at the Presidency, President Ersin Tatar emphasized the importance of keeping the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus alive and strengthening it.
At noon President Ersin Tatar delivered a speech on BRT followed by a 21-gun salute.
Turkish Vice President Cevdet Yılmaz is expected to arrive in the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus this afternoon to attend the celebrations taking place.
Ceremonies will be held at the Dr. Fazıl Küçük Mausoleum at 15.00 and Rauf Raif Denktaş Mausoleum at 15.30.
On Wednesday November 15, a ceremony will be held at the Martyrs’ Monument in Lefkoşa at 08.00.
President Ersin Tatar will receive well wishers at the Presidency at 09.00.
The ceremony at the Lefkoşa Atatürk Monument will take place at 09.30 and the parade on Dr. Fazıl Küçük Boulevard, the heart of the celebrations, will take place at 10.00.
Meanwhile Turkish Naval Forces Command warships will visit Girne and Gazimağusa ports on November 15.
TCG Giresun Frigate (F-491), TCG Burakreis Submarine (S-359) and TCG Bartın Corvette (F-504), which are among the combatant elements of the Turkish Naval Forces Command, will make port visits in the TRNC.
On Wednesday between the hours of 10.00-17.00, TCG Giresun (F-491) will be on dry dock in front of Girne Marina, TCG Burakreis (S-359) will be in Girne Harbor and TCG Bartın (F-504) will be opened to the public at the Gazimağusa Harbour.
Within the framework of the celebrations, the opening of the Cyprus Turkish Cypriot History, Culture and National Struggle Museum organized at the Mucahitler Sitesi will also be realized.
In the evening, a Republic Day reception will be held at the Presidency.
Ceremonies will be held in all districts.
This year, as every year, Motherland Türkiye, sister country Azerbaijan and high-ranking officials from many countries will take part in the celebrations to mark the 40th anniversary of the establishment of the TRNC.
