The TRNC’s imports from Türkiye have gone up by 39.3 per cent compared to the same period the previous year, exceeding $1bn.

The latest figure puts the TRNC among the 47 countries which import more than $1bn in goods from Türkiye annually.

According to figures obtained from Türkiye’s Exporters Assembly (TİM), the number of countries which Türkiye exports over $1bn in goods has increased from 43 to 47.

Türkiye’s overall exports went up by 12.9 per cent in 2022 compared to 2021 reaching $254.2bn.

The TRNC ranks fourth among the 47 countries which imported over $1bn in goods from Türkiye with a 39.3 per cent increase compared to the previous year.

It’s the first time the TRNC has made it into the list which includes countries such as South Africa, Belarus and Turkmenistan.

Türkiye exported a total sum of $189.3bn in goods to the 47 countries.
