The President of the Scientific and Technological Research Council of Türkiye (TUBITAK) Prof. Dr. Hasan Mandal visited the Higher Education Planning, Evaluation, Accreditation and Coordination Council (YÖDAK).

During the meeting, steps that need to be taken to increase the research capacity of Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC) universities were discussed.

According to the information given by the Higher Education Planning, Evaluation, Accreditation and Coordination Council (YÖDAK), a meeting was carried out between YÖDAK and TÜBİTAK.

At the meeting, what needs to be done to create a new motivation and support to increase the research capacity of TRNC universities was discussed.

A consensus was reached on determining the TRNC-based project topics together with YÖDAK, the Ministry of National Education and universities and to inform scientists who will work in this field and encourage them.

A decision was also taken to initiate studies on the immediate establishment of Technology Transfer Offices and Project Support Offices in universities.                                                                          BÖ
