Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu said that they had established a link between the Turkic world and the Mediterranean through the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus’s (TRNC) observer membership to the Organisation of Turkic states.
Speaking in Antalya, Çavuşoğlu said that they were taking steps to reunify the Turkic world.
“Türkiye is no longer a regional actor but a global actor. We are disappointing everyone who has set their eyes on our rights and interests in the Eastern Mediterranean and the Aegean,” he added.
Attending a mass inauguration ceremony in the Turkish city of Antalya, the Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu said that the TRNC’s admission to the OTS had allowed the Turkic world a direct link to the Mediterranean.
“Both friend and foe now know that Türkiye is not a simple pawn to be played around with, that plays the game to others rules,” he said.
Çavuşoğlu said that Türkiye had become a global actor and that everyone saw Ankara playing a leading role in mediation and arbitration as well as peace-building.
The Turkish foreign minister also said that Türkiye was taking steps to reunify the Turkic world and to utilize its potential.
