Turkish Minister of Foreign Affairs Hakan Fidan sent a congratulatory message to Foreign Minister Tahsin Ertuğruloğlu to mark the 40th anniversary of the establishment of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC).
In his message Fidan wrote “we wholeheartedly share the enthusiasm and pride on the occasion of the 40th anniversary of the establishment of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus, which is the most meaningful manifestation of the Turkish Cypriot struggle for equality and freedom”.
He said that the achievements of the TRNC since its establishment are a matter of pride for the Turkish nation.
“The fact that the Turkish Cypriot people, who have always proved their commitment to peace and finding a solution, demonstrate at every opportunity that they will not give up on their sovereignty despite the unlawful and inhumane restrictions they are subjected to, and adds strength to our strength in our just cause” wrote Fidan.
He said that Motherland Türkiye, which has always considered the recognition of the TRNC by the international community as its duty, will continue to walk shoulder to shoulder for a solution, one that does not ignore the Turkish Cypriot people’s demand to live a free and dignified life on the basis of equality.
Fidan said that they as Türkiye will continue to take strong steps to protect the people and law of the Turkish Cypriot people and that during this process, will do all they can for the TRNC to gain the place it deserves in the international arena.
“With these feelings and thoughts, I convey my heartfelt congratulations to you and all our Turkish Cypriot brothers and sisters on the occasion of November 15th Republic Day, and I respectfully commemorate all our heroes, especially those who reached the rank of martyrdom for the Cyprus cause” concluded Fidan.
