The President of the Turkish Karate Federation Aslan Abid Uğuz and the Turkish National Karate Team athletes who are camping in the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC) for the European Championship were received by President Ersin Tatar, Speaker of the Republic’s Assembly Zorlu Töre, Prime Minister Ünal Üstel, Foreign Minister Tahsin Ertuğruloğlu and Turkish Ambassador to Lefkoşa Metin Feyzioğlu respectively.

In the speeches made during the visits, it was emphasized that the embargoes imposed on the TRNC in many fields including sports should be lifted as soon as possible.

While receiving the delegation, President Ersin Tatar expressed his pleasure at the Turkish National Karate Team camping in the TRNC.

Touching upon the embargoes imposed against the TRNC in many fields, President Tatar said that the embargoes should be lifted as soon as possible.

The Speaker of the Republic’s Assembly Zorlu Töre for his part pointed out that the Turkish National Karate Team does not only represent Türkiye but also the entire Turkic world.

He stated that the TRNC will become even more visible with the presence of the Turkish Karate Federation here.

Prime Minister Ünal Üstel who also received the Turkish National Karate Team said, “We are removing the isolation imposed on us by the world through Türkiye”.

Üstel emphasized the importance of the Turkish Karate National Team’s presence in the TRNC and invited other federations and clubs in Türkiye to camp in the TRNC.

The President of the Turkish Karate Federation and the Turkish National Karate Team members were also received by the Turkish Ambassador to Lefkoşa Metin Feyzioğlu.

Speaking during the visit Feyzioğlu emphasized that the Turkish National Karate Team is a team that is watched, observed and taken as an example in the world and that camping in the TRNC is a good message to the world.
