Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus takes on Presidency of GHTC

The Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC) has taken over the term presidency of the Global Healthcare Travel Council (GHTC).

The TRNC will be hosting the Health Tourism Forum this year.

The General Assembly of the Global Healthcare Travel Council (GHTC) was realized in Zagreb under the presidency of Croatia.

The term presidency of the Global Healthcare Tourism Council, which includes 56 countries, has now passed on to the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC).

According to the statement made by the Cyprus Health Tourism Council, the Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Tourism, Culture, Youth and Environment Fikri Ataoğlu has assumed the Presidency of the High Advisory Board for the 2023-24 period.

The head of the Cyprus Health Tourism Council Deputy Dr. Ahmet Savaşan was elected as the 7th term president of the Global Healthcare Travel Council.

Founding president of the Global Health Tourism Council Emin Çakmak chaired the general assembly session of the Council.

Speaking at the general assembly, Çakmak said that the TRNC had fulfilled all the conditions to be nominated for the presidency and that there are no problems.

Following the speeches Dr. Ahmet Savaşan revealed the projects they plan to implement during the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus’s term.

In his speech deputy Prime Minister Ataoğlu stated that they will provide the necessary support for the work to be carried out by the Council in 2023-24.

He said that they contribute to the institutionalization of the Council and increase its international visibility by hosting the Health Tourism Forum in North Cyprus that will have international participants in 2024.
