Turkish VP meets with mukhtars

Turkish Vice President Cevdet Yılmaz attended the ‘Mukhtar’s meeting’ within the scope of his contacts in the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus.

Speaking here Yılmaz said that the projects realized between Türkiye and the TRNC further strengthen the bond of brotherhood.

He said “Every project we realize is the strongest expression of the unshakable bond between Türkiye and TRNC.”

Turkish Vice President Cevdet Yılmaz attended the Muhtar’s Meeting that was realized in Lefkoşa and emphasized the important role of mukhtars as representatives of local democracy.

He praised the duty undertaken by mukhtars in the history of the Turkish Cypriot people and acknowledged President Ersin Tatar’s strong bond with his people.

Yılmaz stated that the Republic of Türkiye is further strengthening its ties with the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus through various projects in areas such as health, education, infrastructure and social services.

He also mentioned plans to provide prefabricated buildings for village mukhtars and improve health services, including the completion of hospital and health center construction and renovation works.

“The construction works of Güzelyurt Hospital, Pamuklu, Maraş and Lapta Health Centers and the renovation works of the Lefkoşa Dr. Burhan Nalbantoğlu Hospital will be completed as soon as possible and put into the service of people,” Yılmaz said.

He further highlighted efforts to meet the infrastructure and equipment needs of schools and provide support for vocational high schools and private education institutions.

Stating that the Project of the Century was realized in order to bring a permanent solution to the TRNC’s water problems, Yılmaz said, “We have delivered the fertile waters of Anatolia to Cyprus by passing through the depths of the Mediterranean Sea. There is no project like this in the world.”

Yılmaz pointed out that mukhtars also play a role in joint projects.
