Turkish VP to visit TRNC on Saturday

Turkish Vice President Cevdet Yılmaz is set to visit the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC) tomorrow for a series of contacts and to attend an inauguration ceremony.

During his visit, Yılmaz will participate in the launch ceremony of the Cypfruvex Cold Storage Project and will also meet with the public in Gazimağusa.

The visit will feature the initiation of a significant investment project under the Financial and Cooperation Protocol between Türkiye and the TRNC, aimed at supporting local producers.

The launch ceremony for the Cypfruvex Cold Storage Project will take place at 11am at the Kalkanlı facilities.

The first phase of the project includes the construction of a 15,000-ton capacity cold storage unit and a solar system to meet its energy needs.

Upon completion of the first phase, the capacity is expected to reach 40,000 tons within four years.

Additionally, Yılmaz will engage with the public in Gazimağusa at 5:30pm.

Accompanied by Prime Minister Ünal Üstel, he will meet with residents at the Gazimağusa Youth and Education Center (MAGEM).

The visit underscores the ongoing cooperation and investment efforts between Türkiye and the TRNC, aiming to bolster the region’s infrastructure and support local economic development.
