Last night, Türkiye’s Ministry of National Defense confirmed the continuation of air operations targeting terrorist positions in northern Iraq.
The strikes aimed to dismantle the infrastructure of terror groups threatening regional stability.
In a statement issued on Thursday, the Turkish Ministry of National Defence reported that 34 targets were destroyed during the airstrikes, which focused on the areas of Hakurk, Gara, Kandil, and Sinjar.
The operation, carried out on October 24, aimed to neutralize members of the PKK/KCK and other terror elements, in line with Türkiye’s right of self-defence under Article 51 of the United Nations Charter.
The statement highlighted that the targets included caves, shelters, bunkers, depots, and facilities believed to house senior terrorist operatives.
A significant number of militants were neutralized using mainly domestically-produced ammunition.
Emphasizing its ongoing commitment, the Ministry stated that the Turkish Armed Forces would continue their fight against terrorism with unwavering determination until every terrorist threat is eliminated.
During the operation, extensive measures were taken to protect innocent civilians, allied forces, historical and cultural sites, and the environment.
