The Türkiye-Turkish Republic of Cyprus Cooperation Association has been carrying out contacts in the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC).

Within the framework of their contacts they were received by President Ersin Tatar and the Speaker of the Republic’s Assembly Zorlu Töre separately.

Speaking during the visit President Tatar emphasized the importance of protecting the Cyprus national cause.

Explaining that the Turkish Cypriot people, who are an inseparable part of the great Turkish nation, have experienced difficult times but have always resisted, President Tatar said that they continue to struggle as an independent Turkish state.

Stating that the TRNC, as the southernmost Turkish state, is the guarantee of peace and security in the Eastern Mediterranean, Tatar noted that they will continue to announce the two-state policy, which is fully supported by the Republic of Türkiye, to all states of the world.

He said that an agreement can only be possible with the cooperation of two sovereign states.

Pointing out that the imposition of a federation-based solution poses many dangers for the Turkish Cypriot people, President Tatar stated that they continue to work for the development and rooting of the TRNC in every field while maintaining the two-state policy.

The Speaker of the Republic’s Assembly Zorlu Töre during the visit paid to him stated that the national cause in Cyprus is the common cause of everyone who says ‘How happy to say I’m a Turk’.

Töre said that no one can touch the independence and freedom of the Turkish Cypriot people and that the Turkish soldiers will never leave the island.

He also underlines that the greatest protector of the Turkish Cypriot People is Türkiye.

The President of the Türkiye-Turkish Republic of Cyprus Cooperation Association Rüşat Aydoğan for his part also emphasized the importance of protecting the national cause.
