Türkiye-TRNC cooperation protocols enter into force

Agreements signed between the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC) and Türkiye are now in force after being published in the Turkish Republic’s Official Gazette.

The decision on the approval of the “Tourism Cooperation Action Plan between the Government of the Republic of Türkiye and the Government of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus”, signed in Ankara on December 6, 2022, was also published in the Official Gazette of Türkiye.

Three international agreements, two of which are with the TRNC, and which have been approved by Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, were published in the official gazette.

The agreements aim to further develop existing relations and close cooperation between the two countries within the framework of the principles of national sovereignty, equality and mutual benefit.

The action plan aims to further increase the existing cooperation in the development of tourism and its promotion abroad.

The decision on a similar cooperation protocol on youth and sports, signed in Ankara on October 5, 2022, was also published in the Official Gazette.

The protocol aims to enhance existing cooperation between the two countries in the fields of youth and sports.
