The Minister of Economy and Energy Olgun Amcaoğlu recently met with the Turkish Minister of Trade Ömer Bolat and Turkish Vice President Cevdet Yılmaz during his visit to Türkiye.

The meetings focused on trade and investment opportunities between the two countries.

During his visit to the Turkish Minister of Trade Ömer Bolat, Amcaoğlu emphasized the need for legislative and infrastructural improvements in line with the economic needs of a small island country.

Specifically, discussions were held on the potential for e-commerce and coastal trade, as well as improving customs practices.

Minister Amcaoğlu highlighted the importance of cooperation with Türkiye to facilitate the growth of coastal trade, which currently stands at over $60m.

They also discussed the possibility of implementing x-ray devices and customs automation at trade ports to enhance efficiency.

In addition, Amcaoğlu held talks with Turkish Vice President Cevdet Yılmaz to discuss energy laws, energy efficiency, and the development of green energy projects.

The aim of these discussions is to boost national income and improve the quality of life for people in the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus.
