The National Unity Party (UBP) also issued a message on the occasion of the 100th anniversary of the Treaty of Lausanne.
In its message, the UBP said that the Treaty of Lausanne recorded the submission of imperialism before the will for independence of the Turkish nation under the leadership of Mustafa Kemal Atatürk.
The UBP in its message issued on the occasion of the 100th anniversary of the Treaty of Lausanne said that the treaty forced imperialism to bow down before the will of the Turkish nation under the leadership of the Great Leader Atatürk.
The will for independence and the struggle waged by the Turkish nation are much more valuable than the signatures of imperialist powers, none of which are even neighbours to the Republic of Türkiye, except for Greece.
“The essence lies in the great victory of the Turkish nation and the independence that made the Republic of Türkiye a modern nation. Just as we will celebrate the 40th anniversary of the proclamation of our Republic on November 15, 1983, and the will for independence that constituted it, which did not need the approval of any power, including the United Nations (UN), we will undoubtedly take our rightful place among the world’s nations,” the statement read.
“In the struggle we will undertake for this cause, our main support is not the approval of the European Union (EU) and global powers but rather the support of the Republic of Türkiye itself, the will and struggle of our nation,” it added.
