The General Secretary of the ruling National Unity Party (UBP) Oğuzhan Hasipoğlu on Wednesday applauded Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan’s address at the UN General Assembly, describing it as a “Manifesto for Justice” in relation to the Cyprus issue.

In a written statement issued on Wednesday, UBP General Secretary Oğuzhan Hasipoğlu highlighted the need for the UN Security Council to consider the realities on the island and make adjustments accordingly.

Evaluating Turkish President Erdoğan’s address to the UN General Assembly, Hasipoğlu praised the Turkish president for highlighting the concrete realities on the island of Cyprus in his speech and going beyond that to present solution proposals.

“With these statements, Erdoğan has, in fact, delivered a Manifesto for Justice on the UN podium, advocating for a fairer world order.”

He expressed the opinion that the UN Security Council should take into account the realities on the island and the will of the Turkish Cypriot people when restructuring its framework.

Highlighting that the key to a solution lies in sovereign equality and the acceptance of equal international status, the UBP General Secretary said, “With Erdoğan’s Manifesto for Justice, we have no doubt that within a restructured, fairer UN framework, we will swiftly achieve the position we deserve in the international arena.”
