The National Unity Party (UBP) Politics Academy started with the aim of raising leaders who will shape the future of the country.
The academy’s first lesson was delivered by the UBP’s honorary leader and former President Derviş Eroğlu who expressed his love and respect for the party.
He also underlined the importance of protecting and preserving the existence of the TRNC.
A speech was also delivered by current UBP leader and Prime Minister Ünal Üstel.
Speaking at the opening session the academy’s coordinator, UBP Group Deputy Chairman Ahmet Savaşan said that with the academy, a historical step has been taken to raise leaders who will shape the future of the country.
Noting that the UBP attaches great importance to young leaders who will shape the future, Savaşan said, “The bright future of our country will be shaped in the hands of responsible individuals who are experienced, who adhere to ethical values and internalize democracy”.
Also speaking UBP General Secretary Oğuzhan Hasipoğlu stated that the academy will contribute to raising individuals who will keep pace with the changing and developing world.
The leader of the UBP and Prime Minister Ünal Üstel emphasized that the start of the political academy, which has been demanded by all members, especially young people and women, for many years, is a milestone.
Üstel said that the academy will contribute to the training of people who have the capacity to produce bold and innovative solutions to the challenges facing the country and the world.
Stating that the UBP signed a cooperation protocol with the New Azerbaijan Party and the Justice and Development Party (AKP), Üstel said that cooperation was important and that they will continue to work with Motherland Türkiye to promote the TRNC across the world.
Following the opening speeches of the Politics Academy, UBP Honorary President Derviş Eroğlu gave the opening lecture and said that love and respect is the foundation of the UBP.
Reminding that the TRNC was established on the geography created by the Peace Operation, Eroğlu called on young people to protect the state and sovereignty.
