Turkish Minister of Transport and Infrastructure, Abdülkadir Uraloğlu, who was part of Turkish Vice-President Cevdet Yılmaz’s visiting delegation, was briefed on ongoing and completed road projects in the TRNC within the scope of the TRNC Highways Master Plan Project.

Minister Uraloğlu conducted an on-site visit to the area where the Lefkoşa Northern Ring Road and Lefkoşa-Girne dual carriage way intersect to examine plans to build an overpass connecting the two roads.

During the visit, the Coordinator of Cyprus Affairs at the Türkiye General Directorate of Highways, Aykut Mutlu, provided Minister Uraloğlu with information about the completed and ongoing projects within the framework of the TRNC Highways Master Plan Implementation Project.

Minister Uraloğlu, in his statement, expressed his best wishes for the upcoming projects to be carried within the scope of the master plan and said they will be closely monitoring the work carried out.

The Minister of Public Works and Transportation, Erhan Arıklı, also noted that the Türkiye General Directorate of Highways had implemented many important projects in the TRNC for the past 35 years.

Stressing the importance of maintenance in addition to road construction, Arıklı said that not everything should be expected from the General Directorate of Highways of Türkiye.

He also added that they aimed to strengthen the infrastructure of the TRNC Highways Department.
