Today, the people of the United States are heading to the polls.
Vice President Kamala Harris and former President Donald Trump are competing to reach 270 electoral votes to become the 60th president of the United States.
Latest polls indicate that both Harris and Trump hold 48.5% support.
As the countdown for the 60th presidential election ends, national surveys suggest a neck-and-neck race between Kamala Harris and Donald Trump.
According to an average of the last 14 national polls compiled by the news portal Real Clear Politics (RCP), both candidates have 48.5% support.
The close competition between the two candidates throughout the campaign period has led many experts to describe the 2024 election as “one of the most unpredictable elections” in history.
In polls conducted by NBC News, the New York Post, Emerson, and the New York Times, the two candidates are tied.
In contrast, outlets such as Reuters and Forbes show Harris with a slight lead, while surveys by the Wall Street Journal and CNBC indicate Trump holding a narrow advantage.
In the seven key swing states that will decide the election, Trump leads in five, while Harris is ahead in two by small margins.
Specifically, Trump is ahead by 0.3 points in Pennsylvania, 1.7 points in Georgia, 1.5 points in North Carolina, 2.7 points in Arizona, and 1 point in Nevada. Harris is leading by 1.2 points in Michigan and 0.4 points in Wisconsin.
The winner of this highly critical 60th presidential election will be inaugurated as the 47th president of the United States on January 20, 2025.
