
“USARGames 2025 Universities Search and Rescue Games” was completed with the award and closing ceremony held last night.
At the ceremony, medals and trophies were presented to the top three teams in the games.
“USARGames 2025 Universities Search and Rescue Games” organized under the coordination of the Presidency of the Civil Defense Organization with the participation of member universities of the International Universities Search and Rescue Council was completed.
At the award and closing ceremony held at the headquarters of the Presidency of the Civil Defense Organization in Lefkoşa, medals and trophies were presented to the top three teams in the games.
Certificates of achievement were also given to the team leaders who completed the competition courses with the best degree.
Certificates of appreciation were also presented to the Civil Defense Search and Rescue Branch Directorate personnel and referees who served as instructors in the games.
Delivering a short speech at the ceremony, President Ersin Tatar thanked all the students who participated in the games and congratulated the Civil Defense Search and Rescue Branch Directorate staff and the referee committee.
Tatar emphasized that in order to reach the target in the face of all kinds of natural disasters, the experience of the teams, technological innovations and equipment investments, as well as the right training will be effective.
For his part Assoc. Prof. Dr. Musa Oytun, President of the International Universities Search and Rescue Council, noted that young people have been struggling for months and that no matter who wins the games, all universities, youth and the public win.
Atilla Karaca, President of the Civil Defense Organization, stated that the interest in the games, which were held for the first time in 2016, has been increasing day by day and has become a sound event with the participation of hundreds of students so far.
