In his message, the Prime Minister paid tribute to Dr. Fazıl Küçük, describing him as one of the unforgettable leaders of the Turkish Cypriot people, a selfless physician, and a devoted advocate.
“Ours was a leader who became the voice of our community, a guide, and a beacon for the future during the difficult years our people endured,” Üstel said.
Highlighting that Dr. Küçük emerged as the leader of the Turkish Cypriots, tirelessly travelling across the island to raise awareness and oppose all plans aimed at eradicating the Turkish Cypriot community, the Premier stressed that Dr. Küçük was a source of strength, trust, and resistance for the Turkish Cypriots.
Noting that Dr. Küçük’s vision, determination, and profound belief in his people made his struggle a turning point in the Turkish Cypriot community’s honourable fight for existence, he expressed pride in continuing along the path Dr. Küçük paved and the responsibility of preserving his invaluable legacy.
“Dr. Küçük, a guide, a voice, and a beacon of hope during our people’s difficult times, will always be remembered for his selflessness and endless love for his community. On the 41st anniversary of his passing, we once again honour our leader, Dr. Fazıl Küçük, with respect, gratitude, and mercy. May his blessed soul rest in peace,” Üstel added.
