Will Iran retaliate against Israel?

The world awaits the answer to this question with tension. The US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken has convened the foreign ministers of the G7 countries.

Blinken stated that Iran’s retaliation could begin within 24 hours.

Following the assassination of Hamas leader Ismail Haniyeh in Tehran, all eyes have turned to Iran.

The US announced that Iran’s retaliation could begin within 24 to 48 hours.

The US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken held an online meeting with the foreign ministers of the G7 countries.

Blinken asked his counterparts to pressure Iran and Hezbollah to ensure that any potential retaliation remains as limited as possible.

According to a report by Axios website based on three sources, Blinken stated that the retaliation would come from both Iran and Hezbollah.

However, he noted that they did not know how the response would differ from the attack Iran carried out on Israel on April 13.

On April 13, Tehran directly targeted Israeli territory for the first time, using approximately 350 missiles and drones.

The US administration is increasing its military presence in the Gulf to protect Israel against a possible retaliation.

Blinken stressed that this was being done solely for defensive purposes.

In preparation for a potential attack, Central Command Commander General Michael Kurilla has also been sent to Israel.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has convened with the heads of the army and intelligence units.

The meeting was attended by Defense Minister Yoav Galant, Chief of General Staff Herzi Halevi, Mossad Director David Barnea, and Shin Bet Director Ronen Bar.

According to Israeli media, the meeting discussed scenarios related to Iran’s possible retaliation.

One of the options includes a preemptive strike. According to a report by “The Times of Israel,” it was decided that a preemptive strike would be carried out if there is definitive intelligence that Tehran is about to launch an attack.

This preemptive strike would depend on Israeli intelligence and its consistency with the US intelligence.
