Date Added: 07 February 2025

Cold temperatures, heavy showers, and strong winds are affecting the entire TRNC, as winter conditions intensify.

While snowfall has covered several provinces in Türkiye and the Troodos Mountains in South Cyprus in white, temperatures in the TRNC are currently 2 to 4 degrees below seasonal averages.

The country remains under the influence of a low-pressure system and a cold, humid air mass.

The weather is expected to be mostly cloudy, with occasional light showers in eastern regions, gradually clearing later in the day.

Meanwhile, the Meteorology Department has warned that the strong winds affecting the land since yesterday will continue until midnight.

Winds from the north and west are expected to reach speeds of 50-61 km/h.

Additionally, the department has released rainfall data for February 6-7, indicating that the highest recorded rainfall was in Zaferburnu at the tip of the Karpaz Peninsula, with 6 kilograms per square meter.
