Working meeting held at Cyprus Vakıflar Administration

The Turkish Delegation to the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE) that are holding a variety of contacts in the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC) visited the Cyprus Vakıflar Administration and held a working meeting.

PACE Deputy President Mustafa Canbey emphasized the impact of the Vakıflar on social and cultural values and stated that their works should be protected.

The Deputy Head of the Turkish Delegation to the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe and his accompanying delegation held a working meeting at the Cyprus Vakıflar Administration.

The delegation was accompanied by the National Unity Party (UBP) General Secretary Oğuzhan Hasipoğlu and Republican Turkish Party (CTP) MP Armağan Candan.

Making a presentation at the meeting, Director General Mustafa Tümer gave information about the history of the Foundations Administration and the work carried out.

Referring to the importance of Foundations in terms of the history of Cyprus, Tümer said that their aim is to meet the material and spiritual needs of the society.

Mustafa Canbey, Deputy Head of PACE, stated that they were informed about the processes related to the Cyprus issue during their meetings within the scope of their TRNC contacts.

Noting that the Foundations Administration has accomplished important works in the history of Cyprus, Canbey said that the works carried out are very valuable for the society.

Noting that they closely followed the developments regarding the issue of the closed city of Maraş, Canbey underlined that the foundation properties should be protected.

Canbey noted that the relations between Türkiye and the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus will continue to strengthen.
