World Cities Day

Istanbul is hosting the World Cities Day events.

While the event hosts the world’s leading women, President Ersin Tatar’s wife Sibel Tatar and Prime Minister Ünal Üstel’s wife Zerrin Üstel also attended the event in Istanbul upon receiving and invitation from Emine Erdoğan, the wife of Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan.

Zerrin Üstel held meetings with the spouses of the heads of state attending the event

Mrs. Üstel emphasized the importance of such events for the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus to embrace the world.

In addition to Sibel Tatar and Zerrin Üstel, the event was also attended by the wives of the leaders of many countries.

Making a speech about the ‘Zero Waste Project’ signed by thousands of people from 59 different countries, Türkiye’s first lady Emine Erdoğan stated that March 30 was declared International Zero Waste Day and that preparations are underway to declare 2024 as the year of zero waste.

Following the speeches, Sibel Tatar signed the ‘Zero Waste Global Commitment’ and took a family photo with Emine Erdoğan, UN-Habitat officials, the spouses of the visiting heads of state and members of the Zero Waste Advisory Board.

The first official meeting of the Zero Waste Advisory Board will take place today.
