World leaders have been congratulating Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan on his re-election as president in Sunday’s run-off election.
Congratulations are pouring in from world leaders since Sunday, May 28, after Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan’s re-election.
Among those who congratulated Erdoğan are US President Joe Biden, Russian President Vladimir Putin, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, French President Emmanuel Macron, Pakistani President Shabaz Sharif, the President of Venezuela Nicolas Maduro, Iranian President Ibrahim Reis, Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas, the President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko, Iraqi Prime Minister Muhammed Shiya es-Sudani, the President of Egypt Abdulfettah el-Sisi and the Israeli President Isaac Herzog.
The Turkish Presidential Communications Director Fahrettin Altun said that the Turkish President had received congratulatory phone calls from 19 countries and messages from over a hundred.
In a post on social media, Altun said that President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan will continue to work towards fostering diplomatic relations with other countries, to help solve regional and global issues as well as to contribute to efforts for world peace and stability.
