World Theatre Day is being celebrated

A series of plays are being staged on Wednesday as part of March 27 World Theatre Day.

The Girne Municipality Theatre Society, Folklore and Youth Centre (FOGEM), and Girne Theatre Su will bring together 4 theatre plays for the audience.

As part of the ongoing events throughout the day, Girne Municipality Theatre Groups presented a children’s play titled “Between Reality and Dream” on Wednesday morning.

Tonight at 8:00 pm, the Girne Municipality Theatre Society will again be on stage at Girne Municipality Chamber Theatre with the play “Shakespeare’s Ghost.”

At 10:00 pm, Girne Theatre Su’s play titled “Pygmalion: A Democracy Musical” will be presented to theatre enthusiasts at the Girne Municipality Chamber Theatre.

Additionally, as part of the events, “Alikko and Caher” staged by the Folklore and Youth Center will take place at Girne American University’s Spectrum Hall at 8:00 pm.

Tonight also marks the beginning of the Besparmaklar Theatre Festival.

Organized in collaboration with the Çatalköy-Esentepe Municipality and Cyprus Turkish State Theatres, the festival will take place at Çatalköy Erol Avgören Cultural Centre with the participation of various theatre groups.

Tonight, at 8:00 pm, a play titled “Just Another Story” will be staged at the festival.

The Lefkoşa Municipality Theatre will also meet the audience tonight and on Friday, March 29th, at 8:00 pm with “A Beautiful Day in the Park” for adults and, for children, on Saturday, March 30th, at 6:00 pm with “The Flying Bicycle.”
