World Theatre Day

March 27 is World Theatre Day and the Speaker of the Republic’s Assembly Zorlu Töre issued a message to mark the occasion.

In his message Töre stated that theatre is one of the oldest branches of art in the history of humanity, which plays an important role in the cultural development of societies and acts as a bridge between people.

Töre noted that art is the way that instils peace, tolerance, unity, solidarity, love and respect to humanity in the most aesthetic way.

He stated that theatre, which is a part of life and one of the most interesting branches of fine arts, is one of the oldest branches of art in the history of humanity.

Theatre which also plays an important role in the cultural development of societies is a unifying force with its education, love, enlightened thought and tolerance, and acts as a bridge between people.
