Turkish Vice President Cevdet Yılmaz also reacted to the series “Famagusta” to be broadcast on a digital platform.

Yılmaz said, “The atrocities committed by the Greek Cypriot EOKA terrorist group, which attempted a coup with dreams of realizing Enosis, massacred Turkish Cypriots without discriminating between children and the elderly, this is the reality not a movie.”

Turkish Vice President Cevdet Yılmaz reacted via his social media account against the Greek Cypriot made series “Famagusta”, which is planned to be broadcast on digital platforms.

In his statement via his social media account Yılmaz said that the historical facts cannot be covered with movie scenarios and added that digital broadcasting platforms should not be a tool for Greek Cypriot propaganda.

“The atrocities committed by Greek Cypriot EOKA terrorist group, which attempted a coup to realize their dream of Enosis, massacred the Turkish Cypriots without separating children and the elderly. This is not a scenario from a movie but a reality,” said Yılmaz.

“The traces of this cruelty are still clearly visible in the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus today and there are still mass graves of Turkish Cypriots. No matter what they do, they cannot change the peaceful environment that started with the Peace Operation and lasted for half a century, and the reality of the TRNC state. If it were not for the Peace Operation, who could guarantee that the Turkish Cypriots will not be subjected to the same treatment, or the massacres committed in Gaza today as soon as the opportunity presented itself” wrote Yılmaz.
